Welcome To My Life Is An Adventure - by Dawitt Abraha I WANT TO BE YOUR MAN! By Dawitt Abraha On the beaches of Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii 2010 You know the one I’m talking about, the high quality man that’s strong, masculine, emotionally available and totally adores you? The one you share special moments with… a bottle of wine in front of a crackling fire during everyday or the Holidays, ringing in the New Year together, laughing and sharing stories in the sun on vacation? The man who makes you feel heard, safe and seen. Who is always there for you? The man that finds you totally Irresistible. And listen to Leonard Cohen's ballad entitled "I'm your man” by candlelight dinners indoors and outdoors by the cascading waves of the oceans under a moon lit night reflections on tranquil ocean. My best friend, Woody and me. Woody was a labrador and chow mix breed. Woody and me in March 2010 at Cherry Blossom Festival Washington DC I found consolation for a time in my volunteer work at The Hawaii Humane Society, socializing cats, washing dogs, walking dogs and assisting out in dog adoption events around the golden beaches of Maui. Sally, my girlfriend of that time, had found Woody and his sister out in the forest abandoned in the Washington DC area. Woody was to become one of my best buddies for the next 17 years. I had the greatest pleasures taking him out for his regular walks, teaching him some tricks and bonding with him. I also learned somethings about life from Woody, namely loyalty and fragility of life. Woody was a delight to everyone he came in contact with. When we celebrated his 15th birthday; he was vibrant, happy and so full of life. That is the memory I will cherish forever. Soon after Woody`s 15th birthday I reluctantly had to leave Washington DC area to live in Hawaii. It was heartbreaking to have had to leave Woody and my girlfriend Sally behind. After that, Sally periodically reported to me that Woody`s life was becoming incrementally and unbearably painful due to his advanced age. As Woody`s health went into rapid decline, Sally and our Vet decided to put him down. I was living my new life on Maui Hawaii when I received the dreadful news of Woody's demise Webmaster: Dawitt Abraha - Email: [email protected] - Copyright © Protected - All Rights Reserved 2021
